Horse Racing Arc

Arc betting is always competitive and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe represents the culmination of the flat horse racing season. It is the final opportunity to have a bet, in Europe at least, on the top talents that have emerged during the season.

ROLL UP for the world’s most prestigious horse race – the Arc de Triomphe.

Annual Membership Take advantage of the size of the ARC Group with our enhanced membership scheme. Annual Members get more for their money by not only receiving free entry and benefits at their chosen racecourse, but across all 16 of ARC's racecourses. THE WORLD’S GREATEST HORSERACE One of the greatest sporting events in the world, held at the truly spectacular ParisLongchamp Racecourse: an opportunity to experience a race with an intensity all of its own and witness the crowning of a legend.

Enable is back for one final crack at the Arc, and she’s a strong favourite to get the job done today.

She’ll have to see off fourteen rivals in the Group 1 contest, but with no Love in opposition now that the ground has turned soft, her task has been made significantly easier.

But is she a shoe-in? Or is there something lurking in the contest who could have her measure?

Enable – (favourite)

The Star mare has won this race twice in the past and is expected to make history by winning it a record third time.

Frankie Detorri will be riding Enable and he is the most successful jockey in the Arc’s history, with six wins.

Soft ground is fine for her and she’s the highest-rated horse in the race.

Two wins this term in the King George and September Stakes suggest she is as good as ever and she’ll take a lot of beating.

Stradivarius – 9-2 Brilliant stayer is better known for his exploits in Cup races but he’s a fine middle-distance performer too.

Racing

Soft ground brings his stamina into play and he has a big chance if they go quick up front.

Sottsass – 7-1 The strongest chance of the home brigade needs a career-best to win this but has some fine form to his name.

Ground is a little on the soft side but this trip will suit better than the 1m2f of the Irish Champion Stakes.

In Swoop – 10-1 Heavy rain has strengthened the claims of this improving three-year-old, who finished a good second behind Mogul last time and will like the ground more than his old rival.

Needs a little more but that might just come after four starts.

Serpentine – 11-1 – Derby winner produced an epic display at Epsom to run his rivals ragged and although he wasn’t as potent behind Mogul last time out that was still a good performance.

Has been supplemented by Aidan O’Brien for this which means he deserves automatic respect.

Mogul – 12-1 Produced a fine effort to win the Grand Prix De Paris last time but is very hit and miss and this ground won’t be much to his liking.

Deserves automatic respect being the number one Ballydoyle contender.

Raabihah – 12-1 Very smart filly gets weight from the boys and would have claims if the ground was quicker but this might be too tough a test.

She needs to improve on her Vermeille second last time and others appeal more.

Japan – 14-1 – Definitely needs more than his King George third and all his form (including his Juddmonte success last year) suggests he isn’t up to this.

Persian King – 14-1 – Very interesting runner is a top class miler and would be a short price for this over that trip.

Needs to prove he can do it over a mile and a half but has claims if he gets the distance for his master trainer.

Gold Trip – 33-1 – Has no form to suggest he can win this and is an outsider for good reason.

Sovereign – 33-1 – Former Irish Derby winner was put in his place by Enable in the King George and unless he gets an easy 10-length lead, won’t be winning this.

Way To Paris – 33-1 – Unlikely to cut the mustard here after a disappointing run in the Prix Foy and hard to see him winning this.

Deirdre – 33-1 – Mare has good form claims at her very best but she’s been poor this season and needs to find something fast.

Chachnak – 100-1 – Outsider for a reason and has no chance.

Royal Julius – 150-1 – Would be a shock winner.
